The Project

The client needed a fully compliant, state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) online training program built from the ground up. Their goal was to create a structured and regulation-aligned learning experience that could support self-paced online theory while meeting OBRA and Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry requirements.

At the start of the project, I helped the client evaluate and select an LMS that would meet their operational, compliance, and learner-experience requirements. Based on their need for sequential course progression, auto-graded assessments, certificate automation, built-in website hosting, reporting, and scalability, LearnWorlds was selected as the best-fit platform. The client provided the approved course structure and required hour allocations for each course within the program. Using this framework, I developed the instructional content using Hartman Nursing Assistant Care: The Basics, 6th Edition and publisher-provided PowerPoint presentations and videos. I then designed and built a 12-course CNA program delivered through LearnWorlds that combines interactive online instruction, auto-graded assessments, and automated certification, alongside a separate in-person competency validation process overseen by an RN instructor. The build emphasizes learner progression, regulatory safeguards, and audit-ready documentation.

The project entailed the following items:

• Online CNA course development – Design and build of 11 sequential, self-paced theory courses (59 hours total) with structured lessons, visuals, and auto-graded quizzes and exams
• Regulatory compliance alignment – Implementation of OBRA requirements, including a mandatory 16-hour pre-clinical sequence, acknowledgment forms, sequential locking rules, and compliance language for audit readiness
• Assessment & grading automation – Configuration of all assessments and the 50-question final exam with an 80% passing threshold and no manual grading required
• Learner progression & gating logic – Setup of sequential course unlocking to ensure learners complete required content in the correct order before advancing
• Certificate automation – Automated certificate issuance upon completion of all required online coursework, including instructor-of-record attribution
• LMS configuration & learner experience – Full LearnWorlds course and website setup, analytics enablement, and learner-friendly navigation designed for first-time adult learners

This project demonstrates my ability to translate regulatory requirements into a clear, learner-centered online experience while building scalable, audit-ready training programs inside modern LMS platforms.
